My new Sakura Bloom sling (jewel)

I am in love people!! I got to splurge and buy a jewel simple silk Sakura bloom ring sling and it's making my life so much easier! It feels so snug and secure so I don't have to worry about Paisley falling out like I do with some of the other carriers I use. I was just able to wash dishes, put dishes away, do a load of laundry, cook pinto beans and bake corn bread muffins while I carried her around. She loved it!! She was able to watch everything and see a bunch of new things :) she's teething so she chewed on her bib the whole time with wide eyes, too cute! She doesn't wear her bib, she just carries it and chews on it haha.

It is also drop dead gorgeous....which is what originally made me want it! It took me so long to pick out a color (since I will probably only own one) and I was going to go with sandstone and then maybe sandstone/jewel but I really like the simple silk better. So in the end I decided to get jewel and I am SO HAPPY with it!! I am tagging every photo on Instagram so people can see what the color is like. I was frustrated that a lot of people don't do that so it's hard finding action shots. #sakurabloomjewel

THEIR SILK SLINGS DO NOT FEEL LIKE HOW YOU WOULD IMAGINE, ITS LIKE HEAVY DUTY FABRIC!

Here are aome photos of the sling...

My favorite baby items

So when I found out I was pregnant I was so excited and when reality hit I had no idea what I needed to buy. I love baby products, one thing I would suggest NOT doing is buying tons of clothes for your baby....friends and family usually are happy to give you their old stuff. So here is what I suggest...

You don't NEED these things but I think they make things easier :) what baby products do you like?

Tip: instead of investing in a nice stroller you can invest in a nice carrier (or multiple carriers)

1. Solly Baby Wrap

I am in love with this wrap,  it is so breathable and stretchy. It's not thick like the moby but it feels very durable. My daughter currently weighs 14 pounds and when I wear her (which is basically everyday) I don't even feel her weight, just her snuggles! With wraps it's easy to distribute the weight by adjusting the shoulders. I think the Solly Baby Wrap is perfect for smaller babies and every new mom should have one. (Once you learn how to put it on it's easy and takes like literally 5 seconds)

2. Ergo

Ergos are amazing, I personally don't think they are too great with small babies but I have friends who carry toddlers around like nothing! They come in all kinds of prints and varieties so you can find one that you love. They make an infant insert but I had a problem with my daughter sinking too far down and it bothered me. I look forward to using it with the back carry on hikes and long trips when Paislsy gets a little bigger. (Be careful for fakes, eBay and other sites sell a lot of fakes and your baby can get hurt using those)

3.  Bliss Naturals amber necklace

Bliss Naturals has beautiful amber necklaces (she's currently restocking more) for babies and adults. If you don't know about their ability to relieve pain I suggest doing a google seach to look at it yourself. I thought it was some bogus hippie stuff but it really works. I bought Paislys hers recently and she is 5 months. She is starting to teethe on and off so I want to help in any way I can.

4. Sophie the giraffe

After reading reviews about sophie I decided to go with the smaller one and in my opionion, more safe version. The larger one has a risk of cramming down your baby's throat with it's leg and with the new one they make that impossible! FYI it does not smell like vanilla. My daughter loves this teether, she chews on it all day long! I highly suggest it, even though it seems unreasonably priced for such a small item.

4. Space saver high chair

I had this suggested to me and it's genius!! What I love about the space saving high chair is you can bring it with you places. Example, if I am visiting my dad it fits easily in my trunk!

Paisley Olivia Powell: birth - 4 months

Here are photos to catch you up to where she is currently at!! :)

Winter time update

This has been such a mild winter in Boise. I read they are worried that with the lack of snow will come more fires in summer and lower water level in the rivers. I hope we get heavy rain in spring to make up for it. I'm so over the cold though, I can't wait to let Paisley experience the outdoors more and road bike on the greenbelt!!  Here are some pictures from our recent adventures :) some are from fall...
